The first is that it is the result of crossing teosintle by Tripsacum.The second is that it comes from a tunicated corn and that teosintle is the result of Zea × Tripsacum.The third and most recognized is that corn evolved from teosintle (Galinat, 1988a, García, 1989, Cuevas Sánchez, 2011).
